Sourcing packaging across time zones fails for three reasons: unclear specifications, slow replies and unplanned freight. All three are process problems, so all three are handled in the process.
This page explains how projects are run for brands outside China, including documentation, payment and delivery terms.
Regions and what changes per region
The packaging itself is stable; the paperwork, decoration expectations and freight profile change by market.
- United States & Canada: FDA-style declaration support, post-consumer recycled content options, air and LCL freight, retail-ready cartons.
- United Kingdom & Europe: REACH/SVHC statements, recyclability and mono-material options, PPWR-aware design reviews, EU and UK delivery terms.
- Australia & New Zealand: Biosecurity-friendly wooden-pallet alternatives, long-haul consolidation, sample air freight.
- Middle East: High-humidity formula stability guidance, wide-temperature transport packing, decorated premium packs.
- Southeast Asia: Short sea-freight cycle times, mixed-format consolidation for multi-SKU launches.
- Japan & South Korea: Tight dimensional tolerances, high-precision airless and dropper assemblies, low-defect cosmetic inspection standards.
- Latin America: Spanish-language support, strong carton protection for multi-leg sea freight, ANMAT/ANVISA-style documentation routing.
Commercial terms
Quotations state unit price, MOQ, tooling (if applicable), sample cost, lead time and Incoterm. Standard terms are 30% deposit with the balance against the bill of lading copy for production orders, and 100% prepayment for sample and small trial orders.
| Term | Typical use | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| FOB Ningbo / Shanghai | Repeat buyers with own freight forwarders | You control freight and insurance |
| CIF destination port | First orders, simpler planning | We book freight; you clear import |
| DDP door | Brands wanting landed cost certainty | Delivery to warehouse or 3PL |
| Air freight | Launch deadlines, sample testing | Fastest transit, higher unit freight |
| Sea LCL | Trial orders under a full container | Shared container, longer transit |
Communication standard
Every project has one named packaging engineer who owns drawings, sampling and production updates, plus one sales contact for commercial questions. Requests sent during your working day are answered by the next business morning in our time zone — typically within 24 hours.
- Time-zone aware communication: you get a written update every 24–48 hours during sampling and production.
- Freight planning at the quotation stage so landed cost is visible before you confirm the order.
- Export documentation prepared per destination, with carton labels and packing lists matched to your ERP.
