Custom Jar Design

Jars are judged in the hand, so geometry, wall thickness and lid depth carry more weight than on any other format. A jar design that ignores closure torque and gasket compression usually fails at the transport test rather than on the shelf.

We design jars as a system: body, lid, gasket and — where relevant — refill cup or inner shell, all dimensioned from the fill weight and the packing method.

Decoration is designed with the mould, not after it

Print areas, lid flatness for hot stamping, and any insert-disc geometry are defined in the drawing so the decoration process does not require a mould change later. Flat lids take hot stamping and insert discs better than curved lids, and ribbed or faceted walls need artwork adapted to the geometry.

Can you design a jar around my lid if I have already produced one?

Yes. We can reverse-engineer the thread and sealing geometry from a sample lid, then design the body to match, including a closure torque specification so the two parts work together.

Is a refill design possible without a second mould?

Sometimes. If the existing body can accept a press-fit cup with adequate clearance, a refill cup mould is the only new tool required. Where the wall is too thin, a new body is needed.

How do I make a jar feel premium without acrylic?

Use double-wall construction, a thicker lid with a weighted insert, a sprayed or soft-touch finish, a moulded texture and a gasketed closure. The combination changes perceived value more than the base material alone.

What is the MOQ for custom jar design?

Custom jars generally start at 10,000 pcs per size; standard constructions with custom colour and decoration start at 3,000 pcs.
